I’ve been practicing the art of photography since I was about eight years old and was gifted a pink Mini-Mouse camera for my birthday. I might have grown up, and my cameras grown with me, but some things never change. Taking photos is one of those magical times when I feel truly connected, invisible, and like all the chatter in my mind just disappears. Photography isn’t just a passion for me, it’s a lifeline. I wish that kind of joyful oneness for everyone, even if it’s not through making photographs.
Through the lens I not only capture beauty but I tell stories, reveal truths and questions, and feel in harmony with something much, much greater.
I was lucky enough to recently have been published in the gorgeous Mingle magazine, as part of a collaborative piece about finding your Tribe. You can view my photos in the Spring 2013 issue, and find out more about Stampington’s beautiful publications right here.
To find out more about my portrait work head on over to my portfolio site right here. I’m currently obsessed with learning the ins and outs of Instant photography, using vintage Polaroid cameras and Impossible Project film, while also keeping my digital SLR and Iphone handy, too. You can see the latest photo goodness I’ve cooked up in my etsy shop SimplyRebeccaShop or check out a handful below.
