Me&Marthacross

Me and Martha…

A lot can happen in a year. We change. What we want changes. Where we find ourselves can be wholly different from where we were twelve short months ago. And while these changes tend to happen in a gradual way, with us growing more and more aware of what’s going on, there is still a sense of wonder when you stop and look back at the passing of a year. Stop, right now and think about where you were on March 4, 2012. What’s come to pass in your own life? How much could you have predicted?

We like to believe (nah, we NEED to believe) that our lives are going to follow the path we choose for ourselves. And sometimes that is exactly what happens. But I am walking proof that sometimes the Universe has other plans for us. And thank goodness it does. What crosses our paths, what bumps us off them entirely, are often exactly the things that transform us in the most magical, powerful, amazing ways.

The trick is to have our dreams, to see where we want to go, and to believe we can get there, but to hold that belief lightly enough to allow for the incredible unforeseen to step in and spin us in all the right ways.

One year ago I was nervous. I listened to the goodbyes of my fellow Martha Beck trainees as we ended our last class call and felt a gentle surrender. I had nine months of training, education, and practice under my belt, but what was I going to do with it? What did I want to do with it?

Since that time I’ve worked with some of the most inspiring women I’ve ever met. Women who’ve stepped up to the table and said, I’m done with the doubt, with the paralyzing fear, with the constant churning of a soul that knows something is amiss. If you’ve been brave enough to walk into that fire yourself, you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say that these women are courageous, determined, and powerful.

I’ve seen self criticism turn into self acceptance, undermining doubt become the foundation for community, and fear tangled trepidation blossom into the most spectacular leaps of dream realization.

It has been an incredible year. And so as I look back and relish these last twelve months, even with the challenges they’ve presented me, I cannot help but be grateful. Now it’s time for me to consider what I want to aim for next… Here’s what I’m dreaming up for the next twelve months and beyond…

  • I want to work with more women (naturally!) who are ready to get clear, get unstuck, and get moving. Life is short, let’s do something amazing with it!
  • launch a new type of women’s gathering -a Spark Party- complete with vision boarding, fear busting, and dream declaring. Think group-coaching meets girls-night-out meets setting-souls-on-fire… yeah, that good
  • take the Spark Party on the road…to a black sand beach, far-east market, or awe inducing jungle. Soul opening on an adventure of a lifetime, with transition support when you return to keep the fire burning. Spark Retreats for the audacious among us…
  • a series of downloadable guides & workbooks offering insights, inspiration and instruction for navigating life when you’re on the verge…And we’re all on the verge.

It feels daunting, in the best way, to speak of these dreams to others. But, if this past year has taught me nothing else, it’s that life (and all the surprises the Universe can have in store) are greatly improved when we share our journey with others. If you have a dream for the next year that you’d like to share below, I’d love to hear about it!

In celebration of this anniversary I wanted to do something I’ve never done before and offer a Pay What You Can special.
